Living Off The Land
Living healthy seems to be an ongoing trend, and we have to say it’s a good change happening in our society. One of the setbacks choosing to live a healthier lifestyle is the fact that organic foods are not exactly cheap for purchase. Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods are looking like only the elites could afford their products. But there is hope if you want to dedicate your lifestyle living organic and completely free from eating processed foods. One solution, for those that are in a position to do so, is to get back to basics and live off the land. Now, what is meant by this?
Living off the land simply means living in a more rural area where you have access to some ground and space. Making use of the land by growing vegetables, fruits and even nut trees allow you the opportunity to eat food that you are in charge of growing. You are able to grow your food without chemical additives and fertilizers, relying instead on natural composting and good methods to produce the organic food that your body needs. It is up to you if you want to take it to next level like owning some farm animals too. You just have to be aware that it’s a huge responsibility, and you must be ready to maintain everything that will be involved in feeding and taking care of your animals.
When it comes to the benefits of living off the land, we have to say that it’s endless. From eating healthy to living and breathing some fresh air. You will get more exercise than you can imagine just tending to your new lifestyle, not to mention having a less stressful life situation. This is the kind of life that a lot of people are starting again to dream of. It is just getting back to how people lived a few decades ago.
